House Fire On Blue Street in Greenville

Greenville Firefighters responded this morning at 3:24 to a report of a residential structure fire at 1409 Blue Street.

The home is owned and occupied by Brian and Amy Buckingham who were alerted to the fire when their dogs woke them up. Flames prevented the Buckinghams from leaving through the door. They escaped through a window and went to a neighbor’s to report the blaze.

According to the fire report, upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and fire in a mobile home. The cause of the fire is unknown but reportedly started in the living room.


Damage is extensive and is estimated at approximately $25,000.00.


Smithboro firefighters provided mutual aid. Bond County EMS responded to treat two people with possible smoke inhalation but no one was taken to the hospital. Firefighters were on the scene about two hours.
