Motorcycle Accident Sends One Person To Hospital


The Bond County Sheriff’s Department has released more information about a motorcycle accident Friday night.

According to the accident report, James M. McMahan, Jr., age 40, of Mulberry Grove, was northbound on the Mulberry Grove Road, at 10:40 p.m., just south of Airport Avenue, on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. According to witnesses and evidence at the scene, the motorcycle crossed into the southbound lane and ran off the west side of the road and hit an embankment.

McMahan was cited for alleged failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. He was ARCHed from the scene to St. Louis University Hospital.
