Mr. Peanut In Bicentennial Parade

America’s most beloved peanut will join Greenville’s Bicentennial celebration.

Mr. Peanut, the iconic spokesman for Planters Peanuts will roll into downtown Greenville Sunday, September 6 and participate in the parade that afternoon. The creation of a 14-year-old Virginia boy for a 1916 contest sponsored by Planters, Mr. Peanut made his advertising debut in the Saturday Evening Post. The first peanut car was built in 1935.

Mr. Peanut and the Nutmobile will be available for photos following the Greenville Bicentennial parade.
