Wise said it was 7:30 a.m. before firefighters had the blaze under control and crews remained on the scene for several more hours. The home is owned by Roger Pace. The family was not home at the time of the fire. It was reported by neighbors and passersby.
The fire marshal was called in and his report is pending. Wise said the cause is believed to be an electrical issue in the basement of the home.

Mulberry Grove Firefighters were on standby at the Greenville Firehouse. No one was injured.
