Bond County Community Unit 2 received good news that its commercial insurance costs have decreased while the district is receiving additional coverage.
Superintendent Jeff Strieker told WGEL about the situation:
The board voted unanimously to approve the commercial insurance package.
Employee health insurance must also be addressed by the district. The current carrier has proposed an increase of five percent in premiums, which is about $85,000.
The board agreed to follow the insurance committee’s recommendation to pay $1 to Boyer Financial to research employee health insurance proposals from other companies.
Superintendent Strieker commented:
The superintendent said it is hoped comparable health coverage for employees can be found at a lower cost.
