Vandalia Police Investigating Theft Of ATM Machine From County Market


The Vandalia Police Department is investigating a break in that included the theft of an ATM machine from inside County Market.

According to the report, Vandalia Police received a call just after 4:00 a.m. Tuesday from an employee of County Market reporting a burglary that had occurred at the store. Upon arrival, officers determined that unknown suspects forced entry into the building. Once inside, the suspects removed the ATM machine from the store. The ATM machine was recovered from behind the store with an undisclosed amount of cash missing from the machine. The Vandalia Police Department’s Crime Scene Investigator processed the scene and recovered several items as evidence.

Vandalia Police Chief Jeff Ray said they don’t have any suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
