This past weekend, the OKAW Valley Amateur Radio Club participated in the annual Field Day exercise.  Amateur radio operators throughout the United States and Canada participated in the event.  The OKAW Valley crew set up camp at Patriot’s Park Saturday and Sunday, giving those interested in HAM Radio the opportunity to test it out.

30 licensed radio operators and about 60 visitors made over 850 contacts with other amateur radio operators during the Field Day exercises.  King said one family from Kentucky was passing through, saw the signs, and stopped to participate.
