In their recent meeting the Bond County Board heard from Public Health Administrator Mark Ayers. Ayers told the board that while the first case of West Nile virus in Illinois was announced over the weekend in O’Fallon, Bond County remains free of the disease. With warming weather, the county has doubled its efforts in testing mosquito batches throughout the county. Ayers also reported that the Health Department would host the Kidney Mobile again this year, on July 14.
The board announced the reappointment of five members of the Bond County Board of Health, including County Board Chairman Howard Elmore, Dr. Tracy Hall, Jo Kirkham, Dr. Sandy Lang, and Anna Oestreich. Each term is for three years.
The board also announced an opening on the Greenville Airport Authority, due to the resignation of Denny Willman. Sherry Schaefer has been recommended to fill his term ending in March, 2020.
Approval was granted to the Greenville Bicentennial Committee to use the courthouse grounds on September 5 and 6.
The board also approved liquor license renewals for Nuby’s Steakhouse, VFW Post 1377, Willie’s Place, and The Mill.
