Cross Country Visitors Stop In Greenville

Ryan Weldon, "walking 5,000 miles for PTSD"

Acting on a Roving Reporter news tip, WGEL’s Ryan Mifflin, stopped by CC Food Mart Thursday morning, where he’d been told a man had stopped on his journey across American to raise awareness for veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Upon arriving at the convenience store, Mifflin bumped into not one, but two men who had stopped in Greenville as part of their unrelated cross-country treks.

The first, named Cory White, was part of a bicycle race called Race Across America. You may recall last year, Pippa Middleton, sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, passed through Greenville as part of that event.

White told WGEL about his involvement in the race:

White’s team is called Beau, Babe & Buds and they’re raising money for a charity called Semper Fi Funds. You can find out more about the Race Across America at raceacrossamerica.org.

The second man, Ryan Weldon, of Myrtle Beach, SC, was the man traveling across the nation to raise awareness for veterans dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He told us about what inspired the trip:

Weldon is raising funds for an organization called PTSD Survivors of America. He said he’s had a great experience so far:
