Thunderstorms Hit Area Again Sunday Night

Thunderstorms moved through the WGEL listening area after midnight last night bringing some very heavy rain. No damage has been reported to the Greenville Police Department or the Bond County Sheriff’s Department but streets in Greenville and area roads have been flooded. There is still standing water on area roads but no roads have been closed.

Watch for water over roads this morning and do not attempt to drive through rapidly flowing water. A flash flood warning was issued for much of the WGEL listening area.

The National Weather Service estimated over 2 inches of rain for the Metro East last night. Tune to WGEL Radio for local rain totals.
