Woman Hospitalized Following Two Vehicle Crash At Hookdale Road & 127

A Keyesport woman was hospitalized following a two vehicle collision at Hookdale Road and Rt. 127 Friday morning.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., 84 year old Faye Gum, of Keyesport was traveling westbound on Hookdale Road when Bond County Sheriff’s Deputies say she failed to stop at the intersection with Rt. 127. Gum’s vehicle traveled into the path of a northbound truck driven by 42 year old Carl Nietemeyer, of Bartelso.

Gum sustained injuries in the collision and Greenville firefighters assisted Bond County EMS in removing her from her vehicle. An Arch helicopter was requested, but unable to fly due to weather conditions, so Gum was transported to Greenville Regional Hospital and transferred to a St. Louis area hospital.

Nietemeyer and a passenger refused treatment at the scene.
