Historical Society Meeting Includes Opening Of 1990 Time Capsule And Beard Measuring

The time capsule from Greenville’s 175th anniversary is scheduled to be opened Tuesday, July 28, during the Bond County Historical Society meeting, starting at 7:00 p.m., in the Bradford Community Building.

The capsule was buried on the library grounds and dug up in April. Several video tapes are believed to be in the capsule and committee member John Coleman said he hopes to show one of them that night.

Everyone is invited to view this unique celebration. Refreshments will be served and following the ceremony, the contents of the capsule will be on display in the Greenville Public Library.

Contestants in the Brothers of the Brush contest are invited to attend for beard measurements and photos.
