Library Director Provides Update On Roof Project

At the recent meeting of the Greenville Public Library board, Library Director Mike Westbrooks gave board members an update on the roof project, which will include the addition of a cupola. Click below to hear Westbrooks summarize the update for WGEL:

Westbrooks said the lateness of county real estate property tax bills will affect the cash flow for the library in the near future. He told the board money might have to be borrowed from the endowment fund to cover costs, but it would be paid back when tax money is received.

An outside door on the lower east side of the library has been replaced.

Westbrooks reported he will be reviewing the Internet use policy for the public access computers, as is necessary on an annual basis.

Two successful summer reading programs will be ending in early August. There are about 170 children in the “Ice Cream For Books” program and approximately 65 in the adult reading program.
