Body Of Missing Man Found In Brewster Creek

A man reported missing last week was found deceased in Brewster Creek, off Boulder Road in Clinton County Monday afternoon.

Clinton County Sheriff Doug Maue told WGEL 62 year old Gerald Richter of Aviston was reported missing to Aviston Police last week. The Sheriff’s Department joined the search for Richter Monday morning.

On Monday, the Sheriff’s Department received a call from a passerby on Boulder Road, stating that there were vehicle tracks exiting the roadway and damage to the guardrail and bridge over Brewster Creek. Vehicle debris and a license plate that belonged on Richter’s vehicle were located near the creek.

The Huey-Ferrin Boulder Fire Department, Keyesport Fire Department Dive Team, and Greenville Fire Department Dive Team, along with the US Army Corps of Engineers responded and located Gerald Richter, inside his vehicle, submerged in 11 to 12 feet of water, according to Sheriff Maue.

It is unknown what caused the traffic accident.
