At the Monday Mulberry Grove Village Board meeting, the board approved a request from the Mulberry Grove Firemen Association for a one-day liquor license to sell beer at the Mulberry Grove Homecoming. All beer sales and consumption will be in a confined area restricted to people ages 21 and older. The board waived the $100.00 fee for this first year.
Board members said that “The Corner” convenience store is filing bankruptcy. The board is still working with Casey’s to get a store and gas station in Mulberry Grove. Board Clerk Candy Widger will send a letter and pictures of the “Corner” location to Casey’s. Another location has been considered but would require running city water and sewer lines to that site. The current site of “The Corner” already has city water and sewer lines available.
The board scheduled a special meeting for Monday, July 13, at 7:00 p.m., to consider village employee insurance and to finalize the village insurance 2016 renewal survey.
