Time Capsule Opening Tuesday

The postponement of the fireworks at Patriot’s Park on July 4 also delayed the opening of the City of Greenville’s 1990 time capsule, which was dug up in the spring.

The public is invited to the time capsule opening Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Bradford Community Building. The event will be part of the monthly Bond County Historical Society meeting.

John Coleman, member of the Greenville Bicentennial Time Capsule Committee, said the capsule opening should be an interesting event for local residents. Click below to hear more:

After the unveiling of the time capsule contents on Tuesday, the public will have other opportunities to view the items, according to Coleman. Click below for more:

In honor of the bicentennial, a new time capsule, to be opened in 50 years, will be closed on December 31 and placed in a crypt at the Montrose Mausoleum.
