Two Injured In Accident On Pokey Road

Two people were sent to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland following an accident on Pokey Road Friday afternoon.

22 year old Taylor C. Stipes of Pocahontas told deputies she was backing from her driveway and didn’t see any approaching vehicles. As she turned northbound onto Pokey Road, she couldn’t avoid a collision with an oncoming southbound vehicle, driven by 52 year old Glenn W. Kellebrew of Staunton. Evidence on the scene indicated that Kellebrew’s vehicle skidded 30 feet prior to the collision.

Stipes was issued a citation for alleged failure to yield to oncoming traffic.

Both were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland by Highland-Pierron EMS.
