Unit 2 Board Takes Action On Personnel

Following a one-hour executive session, the Bond County Community Unit 2 board of education took action Monday night regarding personnel items.

Laura Levad of Pocahontas was hired as a special education teacher at the high school.

The resignation of Michael Young as a high school social studies teacher and boy’s and girl’s soccer coach was accepted. Young and his family are moving to Maine. He was a Unit 2 teacher for 15 years.

The board hired Chance Vohlken as boy’s head soccer coach for the upcoming fall season. He has served as an assistant coach in the Comets’ soccer program.

Mark Turok was reinstated to his previous position as a bus driver.

The school board tabled taking action on the hiring of a part-time counselor at the Greenville Junior High and a seventh grade girls basketball coach at Greenville.
