4-H Livestock Auction Raises $77,864.50, Alva McDowell Recognized


The 4-H Livestock Auction was held Monday night at the Bond County Fair.

The event generated $77,864.50. Twelve steers were auctioned, along with three goats, one sheep, 33 barrows, 11 poultry, 19 rabbits, and 18 dairy products.

The champion steer belonged to Maddey Tebbe. Morgan Bone’s barrow was the reserve champion. Trystan Watson auctioned the champion goat. The champion sheep was raised by Grant Wilderman. Tyler Snow had the champion rabbits. Champion poultry was auctioned by Tristan Sasse. The top milk basket went to Lauren Robinson.

As part of the auction Monday night, the 4-H honored Alva McDowell for 40 years of service as the event’s volunteer auctioneer.
