Residents of the Greenville and Highland area are mourning the passing of Henry Metzger.
He was the longtime owner of Metzger’s Furniture in downtown Greenville.
Randy Alderman of Greenville said he worked at the store for several years, which led to a friendship with Metzger that lasted 40 years. Alderman said Metzger was a great steward of the community who donated time and finances to the community. Alderman also said Metzger was a great patriot who was involved in D-Day Plus 1 and was able to lay a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier a few years ago.
Randy said Henry lived a great life and was good, kind, and decent to everyone.
