Motorists Should Watch For Increased Traffic Around Schools

School starts soon and Illinois State Police remind motorists of increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic around schools.

Motorists should watch for children walking and riding bicycles. Be especially watchful for children darting from between parked cars. Obey all school speed limits, refrain from talking on cell phones in school zones, and never text while driving. When approaching a school bus with lights activated and sign extended, stop before reaching the bus and remember all pedestrians have the right-of-way in a crosswalk.

Slow down, take your time, and do your part to keep our children safe.
