Officers responded and found power lines down behind the building. Officers also discovered the window of 501 West Gallatin was broken out and that the roof had collapsed on 507 West Gallatin, causing damage to 501, 503, and 507 West Gallatin.

Vandalia Police told WGEL the three buildings were not operating businesses and no one was injured.

The 500 block of West Gallatin Street will remain closed until it is deemed safe for travel.
