U Of I Band To Participate In Greenville Bicentennial Parade

The Marching Illini, one of the featured attractions at the upcoming Greenville Bicentennial Parade

The Greenville Bicentennial parade will take place on Sunday, September 6, at 3 p.m.

A major attraction in the parade will be the entire University of Illinois Marching Illini.

Parade Coordinator Alan Davis visited the band’s director last week to talk About the appearance. He told WGEL there are about 400 members in the band. Once the Bicentennial parade is over, the Marching Illini will offer a “static concert” somewhere in the vicinity of the Bradford National Bank parking lot, which will last about a half hour.
