Work is underway at the Green Gables Subdivision site, off the east end of College Avenue in Greenville.
Mike Niehaus, president of Windsor Homes, the company developing the subdivision, told WGEL they are trying to get the infrastructure taken care of and the roads in before winter weather hits. He hopes to have an asphalt street within 30 days.
He said they’re hoping to finish the major dirt work by the end of this week, so they can put in sewer and water lines in the subdivision and water lines in along the College Avenue extension.
Niehaus hopes to have home foundations started by mid-September so some homes can be built before the end of the year.

Niehaus said the company is attempting to secure local contractors. They have advertised for subcontractors and have reached out a list of local subcontractors that was provided by the city of Greenville.

Niehaus said the goal is to turn over three or four completed houses to Patchwork, a corporation that has been formed by the Bond County Housing Authority to serve as owner of the subdivision.
