The Greenville Bicentennial beard contest came to a close Saturday afternoon with the judging of the beards of 17 contestants.
Awards were given in eight divisions.
The life-timers were those who had a beard when the contest began. Winners were David Bare for longest beard, Michael Ennen for curliest beard, Shawn Cox for most unique beard, Arnie Volkmar for best Santa beard, Michael Gouge for best goatee, and James Essenpreis for best mustache.
Rookie winners, those who began their beards when the contest started, were Jim Blankenship for best Santa, and Jim Stoecklin for most unique beard.
The judges were Jim Brissenden, Kirk Langham and Marshall Mollet.
The grand prize in the bicentennial hat contest went to Karen Bauer Reelitz. First place was won by Martha Sue Grant and Carla Mollet received second place.
