Friday Is GHS Homecoming

Friday is a big day for Greenville High School students.

Students have celebrated homecoming all week with specially themed dress up days and class games. Following an early dismissal Friday, the homecoming parade will begin at 3:15 p.m. The parade begins downtown and travels along College Avenue to the high school.

The homecoming parade theme is “Candy.” The parade marshall is Kathy Boudouris Taylor, a recently retired faculty member of Greenville High School.

The homecoming football game begins Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Don Stout Field as the Comets host the Hillsboro Hilltoppers. You can hear WGEL’s pre-game coverage starting around 6:40 p.m. Listen on your radio or stream the game online at wgel.com.

There will be a homecoming dance Saturday night and a homecoming king and queen will be crowned.

This year’s queen candidates are Lexie Mills, Brianna VanKleef, Brianna Wade, Jenesis Grigg and Katie Munshaw. King candidates include Mark Ayers, Ty Ephron, David Holden, Lucas Langham and Ryan Wylde.
