U.S. News & World Report ranked Greenville College among the top colleges in the region in their 2016 Regional Colleges (Midwest) report, ranking 35 on the list of 69 top-tier regional colleges.
“We are excited about our progress as an institution,” Dr. Edwin Estevez, GC’s Provost and Chief Operations Officer, comments. “This recognition signals the hard work by many within our great institution. As we continue to expand our heritage and extend our reach, our commitment to providing high quality educational experiences and programs will better facilitate our students to influence the world.”
Since U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 ranking, several developments accomplished across campus are already expanding opportunities for GC students. The 2015-16 academic year marks the launch of several new academic programs including Game Design & Development, Exercise Science, Sport Management and Pre-Nursing as well as the Briner School of Business. This year also brings expanded athletic opportunities including Men’s Volleyball and Cheerleading.
The 2016 U.S. News & World Report Best College rankings gather data on up to 16 indicators of academic excellence and ranked against peer colleges based on their composite weighted score. These factors include freshman retention, graduation rate, class size, student to faculty ratio and alumni giving rate. Each year, U.S. News & World Report ranks nearly 1,800 schools in several categories including: National Universities, National Liberal Arts Colleges, Regional Universities and Regional Colleges.
