Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation Hosts Annual Celebration Of Life Saturday

The second annual Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation Celebration of Life Festival is Saturday in Greenville.

John Goldsmith told WGEL the event will begin at 4:00 p.m. on the Greenville Elementary School Playground. An opening ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will be followed by team games. The Chapman Brothers will perform from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the closing ceremony begins shortly after 8:00.

The event generated over $32,000 last year and their goal is $50,000 this year.

Teams have been busy raising money during the past year, according to Goldsmith. He said their activities have consisted of “every kind of fundraiser under the sun”. He also noted that the efforts have paid off as the LRCF has seen increased interest from cancer patients in Bond County.
