Local Favorites, The Jorrells, To Perform At Bicentennial

The Jorrells have been one of the most popular bands to come out of the Bond-Clinton county area.

Formed in 1961 as The Nightbeats, the group became the Jorrells two years later.

Keyboardist Cecil Cope joined the Jorrells in 1967 and remains with the band.

The Jorrells will perform Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Greenville Bicentennial celebration.

Cope told WGEL the Jorrell’s show consists of a lot of music from the 60’s and 70’s. He said the band consists of top-notch musicians. Click below to hear more:

The Jorrells have a long history with Greenville, according to Cope. Past band members include Karl Riedemann and Alan Young. Click below for more:

Other former Greenville members of the Jorrells have included Howard Wise and Kreg Riedemann.
