One Car Accident Sends Three To Hospitals


Information has been made available concerning a one car accident Saturday.

According to the accident report from the Bond County Sheriff’s Department, Saturday, August 29, at 9:32 p.m., Patricia M. Brown, age 19, of Highland, was northbound on Old Ripley Road, just north of Brown Mill Avenue, when she swerved to avoid a deer. She lost control of her 2006 Mazda and the car ran off the road, hit the ditch and then a utility pole.

Bond County EMS took Brown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland. Bond County EMS also took a passenger, 19 year-old Brittney S. Hernandez of Highland to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and another passenger, Desire L. Anderson, age 19, of Carlyle, to St. Joseph’s Hospital. A third passenger was not injured.
