Unit 2 Board Takes Action On Personnel

At Monday night’s regular meeting, the Bond County Community Unit 2 Board of Education took action on several personnel items.

Erica Knolhoff, a teacher at the high school, was hired as the high school girl’s soccer coach, Shane Saylor was approved as a full-time assistant coach in the high school boy’s soccer program, and the board accepted the resignations of Martha Hearn and Kayla Curry as employees in the food service program.

Tim Gusewelle resigned as co-sponsor of the high school yearbook and Juli Kastl was hired as his replacement.

The board approved a long list of classroom volunteers for the school year.

Leaves of absence were retroactively approved for staff members Janet Waters and Kristin Hentze and Allison Martin, GES physical education teacher, was granted a leave of absence from approximately October 23 to January 4.

It was announced that negotiations are continuing on new contracts for the certified and non-certified employees in the district. They were scheduled to continue Wednesday.

The board gave its permission for FFA members to attend the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky October 27th through October 31st. It will be an overnight stay, so district approval was necessary. Members will be chaperoned by FFA sponsor Steve Zimmermann and alumni members or parents.
