Bond County Board Reviews Budget, Talks Housing Authority Board

The Bond County Board met in regular session Tuesday and began the work of reviewing the county’s 2016 budget. The budget is currently showing a $460,000 shortfall and there are many uncertainties regarding state funding, given Illinois’ ongoing budget impasse.

The board met with department heads and reviewed their proposed budgets. The work will be an ongoing process.

County resident Lora Kennedy approached the board to express interest in being appointed to the open commissioner’s slot on the Bond County Housing Authority Board. Three individuals have expressed interest in serving on the board. Action on the matter was tabled, so the other two interested individuals could attend the next county board meeting.
