City Of Greenville Fall Leaf Disposal

Greenville residents have four options for leaf disposal. The leaf vacuuming program begins Wednesday, October 14 and continues through Friday, December 18, weather permitting. Please rake your leaves to the edge of the curb or your yard so the vacuum can reach them. Piles should be no higher than three feet and contain no sticks, brush, or other debris.

Leaves may be bagged and put out for collection on your garbage pickup day. There is an additional charge of $2.00 per bag for more than two bags per week. Additional bagged or boxed leaves may be set out by 6:00 a.m. and city workers will pick them up throughout the week as schedules permit.

The leaf burning season begins Sunday, November 1 and continues through December 31. Permits are required and may be obtained at the municipal building. Burning is permitted only on private property. You may burn leaves from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and the first and third weekends of the month.

Your fourth option is to mulch your leaves and use them for compost.
