Greenville City Council Approves Union Contract

Following a brief executive session Tuesday night, the Greenville City Council unanimously approved a Laborer’s Local 773 union contract.

City Manager Dave Willey told WGEL the three-year contract covers the city’s water plant operators, sewer plant operators, and street department laborers. The agreement ends on May 31, 2018.

Willey said the wage changes will be an increase of 3% in the first year of the contract, 3% the second year, and 2% the third year, which he said the city feels is fair.
