Greenville Firemen Attend Special Training In Ohio


Three firefighters from the Greenville Fire Protection District attended special training in Ohio recently.

Mike Waugh, assistant chief of administration for the district, told WGEL the training included “heavy rescue” exercises. He said most of the drills involved vehicle extrication, for larger vehicles and ones with multiple passengers.

Joining Waugh at the training were Nick Blackburn, district training officer, and Firefighter Robert Neer.

Waugh said other Greenville firemen previously attended the training.

He noted that the skills learned in Ohio can be passed on to other firefighters in the district.
