Gina Lewis of Greenville recently returned home after about a week in Armenia, as part of a 12-person entourage, representing the Essendant facility in Greenville, formerly United Stationers.
She was the only employee from the local facility selected for the trip. Other group members were from other U.S. Essendant facilities,
Armenia is located in Western Asia, east of Turkey and north of Iran. It took one day to fly to the country.
Lewis said it was the fourth or fifth year that Essendant has taken a delegation to a country to do service work.
She told WGEL she worked with Habitat For Humanity and explained that while Habitat in America works to build homes from the ground up, in Armenia they help people finish their partially-built homes.
