Highland Pierron Fire Department Receives Training


Six members of the Highland Pierron Fire District completed a 40-hour training course earlier this month at the Illinois Fire Service Institute in Champaign. The focus of the course was rope operations.

Highland-Pierron Fire Chief Steve Plocher told WGEL the training consisted of a lot of grain bin rescue. Ropes and harnesses are needed for many of these rescues.

Attending the training were Danny Ramsey, Zack Jenny, Steve Durbin, Jason Bange, Dan Hochuli, and Ryan Dumstorff.
