October is Safe Sleep Awareness Month in Illinois.

According to information from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, per capita, central and southern Illinois have the highest rates of child sleep-related deaths in the state.

Keep your baby safe by learning the ABC’s of safe sleep: A baby should sleep Alone, on its Back, in a safe Crib with a firm mattress. Keep bumpers, stuffed animals, pillows and everything else out of the crib.
