Pioneering Research Center Partners With Corps To Study The Kaskaskia River Basin


A partnership between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center will pool resources and expertise to evaluate challenges facing the Kaskaskia River, the second largest river system in Illinois.

The study will identify environmental challenges and opportunities and take a comprehensive look at the Kaskaskia River watershed and formulate projects aimed at restoring the river’s degraded ecosystems.
