The weather was very good for Sunday’s Ripson Bridge Festival, held for the first time in downtown Sorento.
Over 80 craft and food booths lines two downtown streets and a stage was set up for musical entertainment.
A small parade was held at 3 p.m. featuring a couple of floats and the Greenville High School Marching Comets.
The festival is sponsored by the Sorento Homecoming Association.
Deb Wilson, association member, said a good crowd attended the event at the new location and everything went well.
“I was kind of worried with the weather in the beginning, but it’s turned out very, very well,” she said. Wilson noted that senior citizens said they were happy with the festival being all on one level and she said crafters and vendors said things went well for their businesses.

In past years the festival was held at historic Ripson Bridge, southeast of Sorento, but association members decided to bring it into the village.
