State Police Investigate Caseyville Officer Suicide

Illinois State Police are investigating the apparent suicide of Caseyville Police Officer Scott Miller, age 48.

The St. Clair County Coroner’s Office confirmed to WGEL Miller was found around noon Thursday in a Caseyville squad car near Interstate 64 and Illinois Route 157.

Miller was briefly named interim Caseyville Police Chief after longtime Chief J.D. Roth, who was the subject of a federal investigation, committed suicide in 2013.
