University Students Tour Local Dairy Operations

45 students from Eastern Illinois University, Illinois State University, Bradley University and Fontbonne University participated in a Fall Farm Tour of local dairy operations this past Wednesday. The event was coordinated by the St. Louis Dairy Council.

While the students were at the Frank Doll Dairy Farm WGEL’s farm reporter Joe Doll visited with Monica Nyman of the St. Louis Dairy Council, who said the tour was important to expose nutrition students to dairy farming operations as they work toward their career in the healthcare field. She said they specifically like to highlight the checks and tests that go into the process of producing healthy and high quality milk.
