Bond County Senior Center Offers Parkinson’s Support Group

A Parkinson’s support group meets monthly at the Bond County Senior Center.

Anna Oestreich, senior center director, told WGEL the goals of the group are to provide support for both caregivers and those experiencing Parkinson’s.

The group meets once a month, on the fourth Friday of the month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Anyone with Parkinson’s is welcome. Caregivers are also invited.

Oestreich said a variety of topics are addressed at meetings. Some of the topics they’ve covered in the past include stress relieving diets and assistive devices. In their November meeting, they will address simple relaxation and massage techniques.

No registration is required to participate. People just need to show up and will be welcomed by the group.

Once again, The Parkinson’s Support Group meets the fourth Friday of the month, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Bond County Senior Center in Greenville.
