Work is progressing on replacement of water lines along east Bowman Drive and south Ridge Avenue in Greenville.
Bill Grider, Greenville Public Works superintendent, told WGEL that the project is progressing nicely and should be done in a matter of weeks, weather permitting.

Grider said the project should greatly improve water service and water availability for fire protection. He said the area has a dead end water line and, especially late in the evening when not a lot of people are using water, the line experiences bad water quality. Residents sometimes call the city regarding a bad odor or taste and the hydrants must be flushed. The system will now be on a loop, which will offer more pressure. Additional hydrants are being added as well.
