On Thursday evening, November 5 the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an armed robbery at the Casey’s General Store on Godfrey Road in Godfrey. Deputies report two unknown subjects robbed the business at gunpoint.
The robbery was captured on the stores video surveillance system.
The suspects, each described as younger, short, black males, with thin builds, were wearing dark clothes and ski masks. The pair entered the business at approximately 10:34 p.m. One was armed with a black handgun, which he pointed at the clerks. The suspects forced one clerk to the ground and ordered another clerk to retrieve the store’s money. After taking the money, which included a large amount of rolled change, the suspects fled the store on foot, in what is believed to be a northern direction.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Madison County Sheriff’s Department at 692-4433.
