Greenville College Launches Briner School Of Business

A ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday evening officially opened the Bob Briner School of Business at Greenville College.

Briner was a successful sports television executive who graduated from Greenville College and eventually retired in Greenville.






Several persons spoke about Briner during the ceremony. One of them was Dennis Spencer, long-time friend of Bob Briner and his family. Spencer said this recognition would mean as much to Briner as any other honor or award he received, because he loved Greenville and he loved Greenville College.

Greenville Mayor Alan Gaffner proclaimed Tuesday as Bob Briner Day and said that every November 3 hereafter will be Bob Briner Day in Greenville.

Bob Briner and Robert “Ish” Smith were lifelong friends from the age of 12. Smith said he thought Briner would have considered the School of Business one of his highest honors.

The Briner School of Business is based at the Dietzman Center on the Greenville College campus.
