Greenville High School Students To Present Fall Play Friday & Saturday

The Greenville High School fall play will be presented Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

“The Curious Savage,” written by John Patrick, is this year’s production.

Set in a private sanitarium near Boston in 1950, the three-act comedy play is about pursuing the dreams that make one happy regardless of what others believe to be true.

It features a woman trying to get her family to rescind the order to be institutionalized.

Scott Spencer, director of the production, told WGEL the play is very well known within high school dramas. Spencer said John Patrick has several high school-based dramas. He said it has, “a great sense of humor about it and, unlike some other playwrights, you don’t have to worry about what the language is going to be.”
