Health Department Holds On Sidewalk, Almost Ready To Bill Insurance

Bond County Public Health Administrator Mark Ayers informed the Board of Health this week that the planned sidewalk project, intended to connect the Bond County Health Department to a new sidewalk being constructed by the City of Greenville on South Fourth Street was on hold for the time being. The board had previously agreed to pay up to $10,000 to construct the sidewalk. Ayers said the city’s project has been put on hold and the health department would revisit their part of the project when the city is ready to move on the matter.

Ayers also informed the board that the health department was nearly ready to go live with their new ability to bill insurance for immunizations. Once the program is implemented, Ayers said the department will bill insurance companies utilized by all major employers in Greenville.
