Kaskaskia College Second In World Dairy Expo

The Kaskaskia College Dairy Judging Team recently finished 2nd in the International Postsecondary Dairy Judging Contest at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin.

Students on 15 teams from across the United States placed 12 classes of dairy cows in seven different breeds and presented four 2-minute sets of oral reasons in competition.

Students on the KC team are Emily Irwin from Belvidere, Macy Wendling from Altamont, Macy Probst from Newton, and Ashten Smithson from St. Elmo. The team finished 2nd Overall in the contest. All four KC students were named All-Americans which is the highest honor given to collegiate dairy judges. The team earned an invitation to judge at the Scottish Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh, Scotland and the Luxembourg National Show in Luxembourg next summer.
