Assistant Shoal Creek Fire Chief David Calk told WGEL the state fire marshal has ruled the fire in a recently-vacated double-wide trailer in Sorento Thursday night to be suspicious in nature.
The Shoal Creek, New Douglas, and Greenville Fire Protection Districts responded to the fire at 108 Taylor Street in Sorento around 11:00 p.m. Thursday.
Around 20 firefighters were on the scene and confined most of the fire damage to one room within the trailer. Crews battled the blaze for about 3.5 hours. No one was injured.
The fire marshal’s investigation continues.
